July 11, 2015 – Kelowna Wine Trip

Notes: I wasn’t so great about taking pictures today – too busy sipping wine and touring Kelowna. As this was my last full day there, I tried to taste as much of the local fare as I could, including some delicious goat’s milk gelato from Carmelis. I indulged in some sweets again today – aside from the gelato, mostly some jam and well as some almond crunch with chocolate and some more pecan brittle

Breakfast: Two eggs with four slices of bacon and a handful of cherries (all not pictured)

Lunch: Half a cup of apple/celery soup, tiger prawns in an amazing butter cheese sauce with some gluten-free crackers, braised beef with roasted carrots and a couple bites of mashed potatoes, plus some cheese, jam, olives, and grapes from my husband’s charcuterie board and a glass of rose wine – all at Gray Monk winery

Snack 1: Half a cup of key lime gelato and half a cup of salted caramel gelato from Carmelis goat farm

Dinner: Halibut in a miso butter sauce with roasted carrots and four mussels, a glass of rose, plus some gluten free bread with butter and some cheese with jam and candied pecans – all at Quail’s Gate winery and all not pictured

Snack 1: Almond crunch with chocolate and pecan brittle
